Welcome to Athelwyne Farm the Australian home of pure breed Romany gypsy cobs

This breed is new to Australia and I hope that this site gives you a better understanding of this wonderful horse.

The traditional gypsy cob was bred by the Romany travellers many years ago to pull their wagons , but today you can find them in the United Kingdom and America at many horse shows competing under several different categories including jumping, cross country, trail, pony club and of course horse drawn.

Since the first import into America a few years ago the gypsy cob has gained itself many different names some of these include, traditional cob, tinker , gypsy vanner, Irish cob, Romany horse, feathered cob, gypsy traveller and Romany cob to name just a few.
